Why we made AppShaper?
To make it easier to explore new ideas and to help us size up client work.
For new product ideas
Tobin, the founder of Pocketworks, keeps this long long list of random product ideas. Sometimes he likes to jot down the key user needs in the form of user stories and figure out roughly how much effort an idea might need. This is very useful when making a business case for an idea as you can compare ROI to effort.
So, Noodleflow lets you quickly just jot down an idea, size it up and then figure out a rough investment.
For sales estimates
Beyond that, Tobin is also involved in sales at Pocketorks. He noticed that using spreadsheets to capture and communicate high-level client ideas isn't very engaging and doesn't stimulate ideas very well.
So he thought it might be valuable to go beyond that and capture ideas in the form of user stories with some visuals. Drawing screens takes time and is a great idea during early meetings, but he thought it might be useful to have some kind of visualisation for team discussions. Noodleflo was born.
